Probate

Probate

We understand how confusing the probate process can be. Whether you need assistance with taking out a grant of probate, or would like us to take care of the whole process, we’re here to help.

Our fees only become payable once probate is granted (for the grant only service), or once we are in funds (for the full administration service).

Our partners are ICAEW accredited probate accountant specialists, who take out over 1000 grants of probate a year.

We have access to discounted estate agency rates too, so speak to us if you wish to sell a probate property.

Our prices

Our published prices are what you will pay, with no hourly rates, ever.
Our grant only service (no inheritance tax to pay)

£995

+ VAT + probate fee (currently £155)

For simple estates that require little administration, we can complete all forms for HMRC and the Probate Courts and submit them on your behalf. You will receive the registered grant of probate which can be used to release assets, sell property, etc.

Our full administration service (no inheritance tax to pay)

£2,995

+ VAT + probate fee (currently £155)

If an estate has a number of assets or you simply don’t have the time or inclination to deal with it, we can undertake our full service. We will submit the forms to HMRC and the Probate Courts, call in all the assets, settle any liabilities and prepare estate accounts before distributing to the beneficiaries.

Our full administration service (tax paying estates)

£4,950

+ VAT + probate fee (currently £155)

If an estate is subject to inheritance tax, it is important that the correct figures are submitted to HMRC and that any tax is paid within 6 months of date of death. Our full administration service includes filing all tax returns, liquidating any assets, settling liabilities, preparing the estate accounts and distributing the estate as per the will/the laws of intestacy. No matter the size of the estate, our fee remains the same. For a £1m+ estate, this typically results in a £7,000 saving in costs.

Deed of variation

£495

+ VAT

To alter an existing will to either save tax or change the distribution to different beneficiaries.

Disbursements
Small disbursements may be payable, usually: land registry title (£3), probate copies (£1.50). Land registry transfer fees vary by property value.
Intestacy research
Our founder Anthony has years of probate genealogy experience (heir hunting). We can locate beneficiaries across the UK and beyond and ensure an estate is distributed correctly.
